Our mini farm consists of gardens (both for beauty and Eating), a small Forest with trails, and a couple cute animals.

Donkey Walks

One of our visitor favorites is “donkey walks”.

Our donkeys are extremely social to humans, and very docile. Well behaved, and kid friendly.

If you’d like, come on over for a donkey walk!
We can take time to give them a little brushing, so they’re fresh for the outing, then we just head out!

We have some lovely trails through our woods, or we can do a neighborhood walk. Think of it as walking a big dog, except we’d argue cuter! (Seriously, people have run from their homes to come out to say hi. Something the donkeys don’t mind a bit!)

On occasion, we’ve done “on location walks” - either at a stock-animal friendly trailhead, or maybe we’ll shown up in a suburb!
Anyone remember Halloween 2021?

As an aside, we don’t do rides with the mini donkeys. They’re at a max 30lb weight carrying limit, and we don’t have riding gear for them anyway. We also believe there was some history with them where they were overburdened with riding, and don’t intend on putting them through that anymore due to their age. We’ve been working up to them carrying paniers (pack saddles), but that is purely for our personal use.

As always, feel free to contact us for time with the donkeys, they’d love it!

growing our food

With our greenhouse and garden, we’re stoked to grow some food! It’s a dream to be able to walk out and pick the goods for our daily salad, and making that a reality has been a lot of work.

Our 30 x 50 foot garden is pretty wily most of the time, but we have rows of tasty veggies and are always trying out something new. We’re also very excited to have our raspberry and blueberry bushes fenced off from the deer, and enjoy that delicious fruit. We also inherited a giant rhubarb patch!

Along the outside of the fenced garden, we have concord grapes, asian pears, a frost peach, a couple established apple trees, a rainier cherry tree. We haven’t had the largest fruit harvests from the cherry or peach yet, but our little orchard sure impresses us.

We hope to host a fall harvest from the pumpkin patch.

Feel free to email us any hot tips n tricks for gardening! We’re always happy to learn.

At dawn, we ride

There are limits for pony rides with Tucson, as he is an old grump sometimes, but with a heads up, we can make it happen!

We do NOT have a covered riding area, so if you’re down for some rain, we are too - we are in the pacific northwest after all. Dress accordingly - this means a helmet and good boots (layers and/or sunscreen are your friends too).

Right now, we’re only capable of easy-peasy kiddie style rides out in the open pasture.

Come spend time with Tucson, no experience required. Time can be spent brushing him and getting him ready for the ride. Kiddos can ride while Chelsea leads Tucson around the field and maybe obstacles - we ask that your child be on their best behavior, including able to listen to directions for safety.

Helmet required - limited options available on site to borrow. Rider, or parent/guardian of minor rider, must fill out a waiver form.
